FAQ’s
How do I get the daily reminder?
Click here to sign up. Your first reminder will arrive tomorrow.
When and where do I receive my daily reminder?
It comes to your email inbox around 2 a.m. Eastern US time every day.
Will the reminder be different for everyone?
No, everyone receives the same message on any one day. It will have your name on it, however.
Will you provide different exercises for different days?
No. The purpose of the daily reminders is to encourage you to be active, not to tell you exactly how to do it. There are already many experts more than willing to do that. Since everyone is different, what works for you may not be useful for another. The daily reminders are a way to keep the topic of exercise active in your thinking.
Is the reminder the same every day?
No, it is different every day. Some days it is a factoid about recent research on the impact of exercise. Other days it is a strategy for becoming more active. The reminders include a wide range of thoughts and resources designed to keep exercise on your mind in a relaxed, enjoyable way.
Will my email address be shared with others?
Absolutely not! You will receive alerts that your subscription is about to expire. You will not receive any emails other than the daily reminders.
People talk about couch potatoes. I don’t have a couch. I watch TV from my chair. Will this work for me?
It works no matter what kind of potato you are! There are couch potatoes, mouse potatoes, and evidently chair potatoes. You can be a sweet potato and become a healthier potato.
How long will it take for me to stop being a couch/mouse/chair potato?
That depends on you. You probably didn’t become a couch potato or a mouse potato overnight. Be patient with the process of change. Small steps can move you farther than you might think. Some people increase their activity level soon after starting to receive the reminders. Others need the steady drip, drip, drip of daily emails a longer time before their habits change.
But I can’t wait that long! I have a class reunion coming up!
Take a deep breath, then read my blog on Class Reunion Panic.
What is the goal of the reminders, then?
My goal is to support you in moving into new habits that help you be healthier and happier in your life. Quick fixes often collapse just as quickly. Slower baby steps are more likely to create lasting change. And we might as well have a good time moving from where we are to where we want to be!
